Tying my tall boots with the left hand (only) was when I knew that I'd get by. Shortly after that, I replaced the starter motor in a Ch&/y Ca/\/\€£0 with a cast and big, long pins sticking out of my right hand. A country man can survive.
BTW: the new knee was a major improvement in my life. Just make sure that the student anesthesiologist hits the nerve that keeps you from feeling the knee, instead of the back of your leg. Otherwise, waking up is sure going to be a rush! That was the most intense thing I remember. I was having trouble catching my breath! After that, I was walking around the next day. Never looked back!
