Everyone's perspective of this is right, but lets face it...with few probable exceptions, most of our PW's are a hobby, not a necessity. Where would we all be without that "other truck." What towed home the PW? What hauls the PW's radiator to be recored? What makes multiple same-day trips to the parts store returning the first set and picking up the right set of brake parts while the PW is up on jacks (which lately seems to be most of the time)? What jumps and/or push starts the PW? What makes "used PW parts runs" that happen to be two or three states away from home?
In some lucky cases the "other truck" may indeed be another PW. In other cases it may be one of those overpriced "plastic & 4x4 decal" late-model specials described in the other posts. In my case its just a beat-to-#$&* '86 F250 6.9L diesel 4X4 with 130,000 miles. In ANY case its the truck that's gonna be there doing the job until the PW is FINALLY done (and probably longer if thats even possible).
If I (hypothetically) suddenly had to choose one truck to keep and one to sacrafice....sorry guys..., but dependability and practicality would have to win out on this one.
