Keep in mind that engine oil might also be thinned by gasoline washing down the cylinder walls during cold starts or overly rich running. This can affect the cetane rating of the diesel fuel. (Yes, cetane, not octane.) Diesel is rated to ignite at a certain pressure and temp. If you add gasoline, it can ignite prematurely and cause severe damage to rods. Like detonation in a gasoline engine.

I'd rather burn it in an oil burning furnace than in a vehicle. But you have to be aware of the problem of lead and other heavy metals and make sure you don't accidently vent it back into the house.
