Burning used oil

The rural electric co-op in Bush Alaska I used to be a board member of has diesel generators. The main ones are 2 Cat 3512s or 3516s. They are what one would call "medium speed diesels" that run at 1200 rpm but are in all major respects designed just like a small high speed diesel as far as pump, injectors, heads, pistons, etc.
We did/do burn waste oil but it is centrifuged and thoroughly filtered first, and then added to the stream of incoming #2 diesel in measured proportions.
It would be definitely tempting fate to just dump a couple of gallons of unfiltered waste oil into a vehicle's fuel tank. At the least it would totally clog the fuel filter(s) very quickly, with all the soot, fine metal pieces, etc.
