Thanks for all the support. Yes, I have considered all those things and have done some of them. The hole has been inclined but the thing is so heavy, it's still too hard a pull.

I remember seeing those snatch block basics and I will re-read them. I went to the local Sears Hardware Store to see if they have any. OK, you're laughing. They say the have just about "everything". Well, they did have some pulleys in the chain and come-along section. They looked like just the thing if you want to put up a clothesline or a bird feeder. I will have to keep shopping.

Did I mention that the rocks we have around here are mostly hard granite? They can be drilled and split etc. but a rental jack hammer would have to be a big air driven one to make a mark. Still, it's an idea.

Maybe I will take Keith in Wash. up on his kind offer to place the rock at the corner of his driveway. Keith, could you just lend a hand getting it on the truck? The rest will be easy.

OK. I WILL take some pictures and post them soon.
