Most Parts Stores are affiiated in some way. They often may be independently owned but source their parts from a common parts source. As an example ACE hardwares are often owned by individuals but get a lot of their stock from ACE. NAPA stores are locally owned but obviously source from a specific set of part suppliers.
Do you have any idea where they are getting them from? I would almost bet the house on the fact that they are not having them specially made for their store. Ask them and then let us know so we can ask our local parts store if they would be willing to get some in.
