You have been watching to much CNN and beliving every word. Great armchair quarterbacking though. I wonder if you know anything about our military besides what you see on T.V. which is mostly media hype to sell advertising slots ($). Have you ever served in a Counter Terrorism or SOF unit? If you had you would know that our abilities are far from the paper tiger you describe. I have spent time in the Gulf and in Mogadishu. That soldier that you casually mention as being drug through the streets (His name is Tommie Fields, he is from Lisbon Falls, Maine, just for your future reference) was a personal friend of mine. Believe me, it's not the Soldiers or Marines fault for our apparent lack of teeth, It's the politicians who set up these B.S. "Rules Of Engagement" (Ha, what a joke) to keep the Mothers of America from seeing Johnny Boy stomp a mudhole in Ahmed Q. Scumbag's skull and then walk it dry! No one, and I mean no one, messed with the Leigonnaires in Mogadishu at all! Know why, because they were some B.A. mean dudes, and they let everyone know it. They did not ask people to ster aside, they blasted them in the face with the buttplate of thier rifle. And that was considered just a warning! I wish we had that option (and some tanks) from the start.
Todays Military is being used as a pawn in a political game. The regular military should be used after diplomacy has failed, and the gloves should be taken off.
That is where we start.
Counter and Anti-Terrorism actions, should be handled as they are by our SOF and intellegence units in silence. If you knew every act of terrorism that was thwarted every day by our brave men AND WOMEN (that's right, theres a platoon in Delta Force that activly recruits and employs females, and they have a hairier sack than most men if front line ground units) people would be frightened to get on any type of public transit in the U.S. or abroad.
The Military is'nt weak, they are mis- utilized by your elected politicians!
