Kevin:

You might consider mounting the front turn signals between the headlights and side of the radiator shell, as this locat1on puts them well out of harm's way. I installed a pair of Dennis Sherman's excellet repro PW headlight guards on my '47 WDX, and mounted my front turn signals just behind that headlight guard on old short, cast iron curved fog lamp brackets (swap meet finds). The stubby fog lamp brackets curve up about 3 inches and extend back about 4 inches, so my turn signals are raised high enough above the crown of the front fender to be seen from the rear sides. They are protected in front by the headlight guard. Earlier, I had them mounted on the outside edges of the front fenders, but they were always in the way when I was sitting on the front fender and working under the hood. They also got knocked around when 4-wheeling.

You might consider mounting the rear turn signal lamps, along with the rear turn/stop lamps, inside and through a "C" shaped channel bracket mounted either (i) to the side of the frame rail near it's rear end or (ii) by its top to the bottom of a bed metal cross member. The lights would be underneath the bed, so protected from stuff above them. The "C" bracket protects them from mud & rocks thrown back by the rear tires (rear mud flaps add another layer of protection). Yet they are still very visible from the rear. If the arrow lense and cover can be reversed on the lamp shell, then you might mount the lights with the hollow mounting stem pointing up and thru the top of the "C" channel, so the lights hang like bats. Seal the stem hole with some putty or similar material.

Keep them tucked in close to the truck to avoid having them knocked off. Congratulations on the excellent find.
