I like a machinist who thinks in terms of perfection, but these engines were built using interchangeable parts, not hand-selected or honed to fit. Maybe if you were trying to keep the oil clearance down to .0005 like I've read about some engine builders doing these days it would matter, but doesn't a 230 have something like .003 clearance? Guys used to fix a rod knock by shimming with beer can metal or filing the caps. I just can't see one bolt versus another making any significant difference.
