Chris I've always suspected either a genetic predisposition exists in most people who develop Silicosis, or it's related to the cigarettes smoked per day by the person.

Then again, what the hell do I know? I only have old receipts for over 40 ton of blast media ranging from sand to corncob and back. Fortunately I was too dumb to use the free ground glass I could have, possibly because watching blood drip from the noses of employees in the glass area clued me in.
Water blasting is so much cheaper, but a little tough on even FFPW sheet metal.

Outgassing of resin is a large collection of the wonderful world of chemistry. The primary one you smell is Peroxide.

Supplied air breathing equipment is your friend.
