Talc is a pretty standard filler in resin compounds, and well saturates with resin sitting in the can before it is used, so that argument fails to fly.

Phosphating is one of the best ways to kill rust, BUT, if the process isn't done correctly to include complete wetting of the rust and then full drying, phosphating is fairly useless.

The biggest screwup in body repair is media blasting! A rusted panel isn't made new or whole by penning micropockets of rust temporarily closed to act as seeds for future rust growth.

The greatest reason Bondo type fillers disconnect from the metal layer of the sandwich is thermal expansion differential between metal and plastic.
