It helps but you can still run out of Vacuum just like air using the brakes to much. I have a tank for mine to add to the system. I remember learning how to use air brakes on steep hills seeing the gauge drop and hoping they were not going to lock up! I had a leaking air line that was also using it up found that in town. Broke a air line once and had to baby them till I could fix it but was glad I had a Exhaust Brake, Jake Brake and Brake Saver that uses engine oil to help stop on my Tender!
