No I set the pin strait up and down then just pushed it in. Soon as the weather breaks I will get the pump set so the rotor sets at 7:00 & #1 plug and TDC using #6 piston thru the whole in the head on the compression stroke. Then turn the dist till the spark just happens and snug it down. After it is running I will set the timing correct with a light and ear. I just forgot how it was done right when I did it the 3rd time. This was the second dist I put in the engine due to not getting a new cap for the small cap type like I wanted the first time. So I replaced it with a large cap type I also had. Then when I switched to the new pump I messed it up big time!
