For a quick reference, here you go:

4" @ 3000 psig = 18.8 tons
4 1/2" @ 3000 psig = 23.8 tons
5" @ 3000 psig = 29.5 tons

HP and GPM don't have much of anything to do with it. Hp is needed to make it work, GPM will just increase/decrease your speed. A bigger pump will not make it stronger, just faster. That is unless you want to run a REALLY hi pressure pump but most cylinders spec is 3000 PSI.

Cylinder size and pressure are the determining factors. As you see, there are a LOT of falsely advertised splitters out there.
