The truck may be ok and he is simply moving the gear lever to park way to fast. I have noticed on my 05 you can not throw it into park like my 95 or 74 as fast. A nice slower move of the lever into park and all is well. My truck has the back up horn honk on it if the door is open and it also will honk if not fully into park while its running and door open. The way I understand my 05 the transmission has to move to park as well as the lever mechanism on the column and the safety on the brake. Might try slowing down the movement into park.
