Only downside I see on these 2 barrel conversions is unless you have a manifold to suit, you are still pulling the gas mixture through the same hole as for the single. Progressive might give better gas mileage while running on one barrel, but I see it as a compromise at best. I ran a 2 barrel holley on a locally made 6, but also used the manifold designed for it and IMHO it was as good as the twin carb setup and no linkage issues. It did use more gas then the original single carb, but went way better.
