The low one on the block is the dump-it-into the-pan port. It's just above the oil pressure relief valve. It opens when the oil pressure is high enough. You have to use it on bypass systems.

Then too, the high pressure port just above it has the most flow from the pump, you ought to take it out there so as to minimize oil starving, which might happen if you tap off of another port. See, those ports are where the oil galley to the mains get drilled. Taking it off the rear one will oil starve the rear main.

Just hook it up the standard way.
