Thanks for the comment. Heat can be good in that it will relieve the stresses but you have to do a proper heat treatment to get it back to original springiness. Hopefully cold setting will be better then nothing. Since it is going to be an additional spring and wasnt to far out when I did it. I think it will be a worthwhile addition to the pack.
I suspect that the flat spring would go back flat pretty quick, so without a heat treatment not worth doing.
