Tried just a gasket on Back Window?

I put the back window in with just the gasket and it leaks when it rains hard. Looks like I need to pull it and seal it also. I have the sealer to do it with but was wondering if it would seal up and it did not. Still need to seal my Cowl Vent and put the hose on it to the outside now that I am wrapping up the wiring. Been raining good today and last night so snow is real close if the temps drop.
