The bypass works really well so I don't think most people see a full flow as a necessary thing. Bypass is actually better at removing fine particles and acidity. I think the bypass works better at containing sludge also. when I have cut open full flow filters I don't much if any. When I clean out the bypass filters I have seen lots of sludge caught inside on some old engines.
