ok first time on this forum so thanks for having it and thanks in advance for answers and replies.

I have a 64 TW with a 318 poly and maybe an np 420 or 435, I a not sure but the trans has a granny gear and 2nd has no syncro so it's not very much fun to drive.

Anyway I think I want to keep the ploy and think a more modern manual trans is what I want.

first question is then the bolt pattern for the back of the block. Is it the same as the 318 LA?

Or should I just lay the poly to rest and go newer for both.
