Hi Damien,
Keep in mind that this is the M37, 24 volt sealed distributor with the coil inside it. It is almost impossible to take the cap off of it in the vehicle, the distributor pretty much has to come out to do anything on it.
I can check the voltage while cranking and the continuity from dist to block.
The oil pump is definately spinning it.
