Not sure what he's exactly trying to do, but I wouldn't use a battery disconnect as an emergency engine kill switch under any circumstances. For example, if you were winching at night, you might like to have the lights stay on when you stop the engine. Also, the only practical way to do it is with a heavy contactor, since the kill switch can't be a "frankenstein" switch rated for hundreds of amps. That introduces another point of failure into the system. I'm all for providing a total battery disconnect, to avoid drain on the system when the truck is parked for along time, and to make it harder to steal, but an emergency kill switch should simply kill the ignition circuit. If you have an electric fuel pump, you'd want to kill that at the same time, either by including it in the same circuit or using a double-pole switch.
