I've had similar things happen and just about drove me crazy. Took a rototiller to the car wash to clean it up, and wouldn't start afterward. No spark. Tore the engine down and found the wire from the points to the coil had worn through under the flywheel. Had nothing to do with the car wash that I can tell.

- Check that the body of the coil is grounded.
- I think you've done this, but turn on the ignition and cycle the points with a screw driver. If you see a spark then the circuit to the coil is good.
- Swap out the coil for a know good one.
- Check all condensers with an Ohm meter - a good condenser will show a small resistance for a split second before it goes to zero. A bad condenser will usually burn the points after a while, but won't (usually) kill the ignition system.

That's all I got - Good Luck!
