Finally got the bed for the truck back from the blasters last Friday. They do good work for reasonable prices, but between the weather and the commercial jobs you can't rush it. They just did a rough blast so I can see what metal needs replaced and have a decent surface for welding to. Once everything is done it will need re-blasted for paint. Now to see if it's possible to match the diamond plate pattern in the bed.

On the plus side I finally got the truck registered and ordered plates, wired up a simple set of tail lights and ventured a little further than around the block so I could calibrate the speedometer and get above about 20 mph, both of which went well. Pulled into the yard all happy and closed the door and chipped some of the paint around the opening. Guess I need to tweak the door alignment again, then learn how to fix the paint chip.

Still two years ago it was yard art, now I'm driving it! Definitely need to figure out the tire situation though, 30 mph was in 4th gear at "normal" RPMs, but the used tires I have on it are almost 2" smaller then stock.
