I have thought about it too but I offroad my WCs so wouldn't want too much mud getting inside drum. If you have bad brake fade most the problem is likely the lining. The best lining is no longer available was called Abex (they still make ling just not for drums our size). There are still some good quality options available. Just have to ask for it when you send shoes in. Tell them you need something that wont glaze.
