This ol girl is going to be put away for the winter soon and once its away, not coming back till may or june.
I bought this truck about a month and a half ago, along with another one in a bit worse shape tha this one. I just got this one home on Monday. Looking it over, I do not think it is quite a parts truck yet. I will offer it up for sale first and see if it can go to a new home first.
Although the bed looks decent in this picture, it is not! The bed is about the worst part of the truck. However, I do have a HEIL dump bed setup which is in quite good condition which looks very much like this one, but without the head board up and over the cab. I will include the HEIL bed in the sale.
The frame is in decent shape, it has been reinforced below the dump bed to add strength, rather than to fix damage, or so it appears. I think I counted 25 leaf springs in the rear, including the helper springs. Probably a bit of overkill.
The cab is in decent shape, Some rust through at the back under the rear window, a small rust hole in the corner behind the passenger side seat and the worst being the floor on the drivers side where it changes from flat to angled. It has had bucket seats installed, but I have a seat frame to include. The windshield frame appears to be good, and the regulator works. The drivers side glass is missing and the passenger side is stuck in the down position. I have regulators that do work that I will include. The doors are not rotted out on the bottoms.
Fenders have a small amount of rust but are fixable. Winch is there but has the wrong bumper. Winch handle is there but is broken. I believe I have one to go with it.
Headlight and cowl light buckets and bases are decent, except for the top mounted turn signals. No accounting for what people decide to do with these trucks!
The engine is a T-137, it turns over by hand but I suspect the valves are stuck open. The engine compartment is reasonably intact, of course the wiring is a rats nest.
While this truck obviously needs a bunch of work, I think it would make a fun project.
Price, including the HEIL bed and dump mechanism, and extra parts I have listed, $3,000
Located in Vermont, shipping can be discussed within a reasonable distance.
More pictures on request.
I will make a donation to Joe if it sells, I am not trying to skirt his adds.
Thanks,
Tim
