I see what you mean now on the shaft. Coming out the cover with it you would have to make a new shaft end that would thread down it to hook up to the large gear and getting the cover back on well that is a different matter. Milo's motor might work with out cutting. I do know if you can't remove the shaft no way will it go in with out cutting up the front of the valance it is too close of a fit. It will slip in only one way on the right and left with out the shaft.
