It's kind of a catch 22 in my mind. If you are going to have that much frame flex your hood corners are going to be digging into the cab and cowl. I would at least make those gaps a little wider than stock.
I would do all your mocking as you are and wait till you are done to see if you can still put in a custom set higher. Personally I would put the in as with the vibrations from the motor and such, fatigue is your enemy. A vibrating radiator will not last too long where the hoses connect. We all see how the mirrors were on the 1st gen Cummins truck. harmonics would vibrate them so bad you couldn't see out of them till you reved it some. Just my thoughts.
