i have an old wood boat with flat glass windows that go up and down on tracks with cables and sashes. it is a cool setup. the orig glass was set with friction tape and has started to fail. i took the first window to the glass shop and had them reinstall. they used urethane as they no longer can get quality setting tape. I inquired about getting the goop out if the glass breaks down the line. guy had a great answer. find a drill bit the diameter of the track. run it down the track and DRILL out the glass. says it works perfect and gets close to all of the stuff out....
