Coild behave that way, and M37 supppresor under coil?

Weak coils can't fire the richer mixture that the carb gives under heavy acceleration. So try a coil +/- condenser.

Also the M37 dist has a radio noise suppressor capacitor under the coil. It can be replaced with a piece of wood with a nail through the middle. But you must have spares? A civvie dist will fit in for a test drive, but it will wooble a bit. You can plug civvie wires into the spark plugs.
