Can't post picture ATM, but you're right about some of it. The M601 support frame bolts to a almost flat bracket bolted to the underside of the front cross-member, so it's a couple inches lower than the bracket on the early ones. The M-601 radiator is thicker and taller than the early type and could be bolted to the front or rear edge depending on the length of the engine, although the filler cap wouldn't line up with the short engine. A better idea would be to use a fan extension/spacer if you used the high pump, or fit a low pump (more central to the rad) with a shroud.
