That is the issue- hunters and relatively fresh kills. Talked to a guy who got bit after shooting a buck. He said the deer was covered in ticks. He dropped from over 200 lbs to 117 I think. The muscle just wasted away. He was worried about being around to see his daughter graduate. This guy was a fire fighter but could not do the job anymore- he was out washing the truck. A couple of other firemen had over heard me grumbling about having a bad day and I dropped the Lyme word. They came and talked to me about their coworker and what they could do. Their big concern was the emotional toll. keep in mind they had never met me before, I was on duty regarding a plane crash.
All kinds of stuff going on , but these guys had watched their best friend waste away and wanted help.
I think that is part of the problem with Lyme- many of the symptoms are not visible and because of this much of the medical system does not understand the consequences of not dealing with it in a immediate aggressive manner.
