I've had a couple of Landys.

The series iii is distinguished by the plastic front grille, plastic dash pad, gauges in front of driver and fully synchroed 4-speed transmission. Parts are readily available, but not inexpensive. Motors are underpowered, but very durable. Frames are fully boxed so tend to trap dirt and rust from the inside out.

Check carefully for rust on frame, outriggers, etc. Check front knuckle swivel balls for pitting and corrosion. If heavily pitted, they'll leak gear oil. Every drivetrain component that contains oil will leak on Landys - if it's not leaking, it's out of oil! Lucas electrical system tends to be somewhat unreliable.

If it's a PTO winch, that's very desirable. If price is low and frame is in good shape, may be a good buy. Very cool trucks.
