I did something similar but without the cut in the cab, so not the length that Paul has, but still got about 24" of support in the B-pillar using some pretty thick angle. Considering they come with grade 5 mounting bolts I think it should be plenty. Bottom was similar but used the floor bracket as a secondary tie-in point. Put some photos on my PWA thread.
