My AirMaxxx Compressor takes a 12 inch long box and at least 8" high so you can un/screw the intake filter. I am thinking of extending the intake into my cab for cleaner/dryer air. It uses a 1/2"NPT fitting easy job to extend it. I picked up a regulator, Oiler and dryer for it too. That way I can lower the presser for tools and feed the tank with 125 lbs at the same time. Since it will also control my bed lock with air the Hydraulic Pump will only lift and go down when it is un/locked and the compressor has power. That way you can't mess up the bed lock by forgetting to un/lock it first.
