I didnt do a thing to the rings.

I did a valve job.. meaning, new valves, stainless steel, and NOS springs. no vavle guide were replaced. recut the seats and lapped the vales in place and that was that

yup..oil pressure where cold is 35 lbs+

when hot, it runs down to about 12-15lbs

OIL- I am running a 10W-40.. think this is too light?

well, I thought about that myself, so I added a can of motor honey.. its so think it ultimatly thickened the oil anyway, so???

Dan.. do you really think a heavier oil might help? or would I be throwing away another 25 bucks in oil trying?

I wish that was the case! I would love to fix it now with a simple oil change to a heavier motor oil!

Dang.. wouldnt that be nice.. I remain un-optimistic at this point, that simply chaning oil would eliminate the oil fouling of the plugs and smoke at the exhaust, but am willing to try anything before pulling it!

Ha!
