that both you and Dan said... Deceleration... oil being drawn up in and thru the rings due to high vacuum in deceleration mode.

or thru the valve guides maybe? Or is this not probable.. the rings more the probable culpirt.

so the deal is this truck is currently being put together.

my goal was to get a good engine in it, then start buttoning it up.

It is NOT driveable.. so cant take it for a spin and drive the crap out if it with hopes it breaks in, or fixes itself.

the cab is nothing more than a shell at this time, off the mounts and pushed back onto the frame to make room to do the engine work..

I am doing the brakes now.

but its far from being a driver.

I just dont feel all that comfortable continuing the build up knowing I got engine issues.

If I had hopes it would truely get better, I might forge ahead. but after an hour or so of starting and running it, reving it, idling it, an it being completly warmed up, then cooled, then warmed again,. my hopes of a quick fix are fading.

now would be the time to take it back out and give it the attention it needs. while the truck is apart.

I was really hoping that the smoke was something that would go away after running it..up to temp and speed. I have run it at idel, brought it up to a couple thousand RPMs for a short few times, hoping "something" would break loose and oil blow by start dropping off. but no luck.

Like my original post stated, when I first started it up, i got gobs of smoke, acle and decl, then it got better with intermitent puffs of blue smoke at idel.. then that went away, giving me more hopes.

At this time, NO smoke at idle or at reving it up..

its just there no upon DECELERATION.

thanks for your insight.. both of you.
