I used to hitch hike down Hwy 39 from Lincoln Blvd to Huntington Beach several times a week to body surf. I was pretty good at it back in the 60s. I can remember Jack's Surf Shop, fishing off the pier, getting saved by life guards after going over the falls on a 8 ft wave and almost drowning cause I hit bottom and was rolled for a while. Still have the scar on my back. Used to swim at night till something big and rough rubbed up against me while swimming in the ocean! I got out of the water real fast. I used to go over to the Bomb Shelters where they protected the shore line during the war to party. Those were the years but I will never live there again the state is insane now! Now I like living in the country and working on my Power Wagon instead.
