Sherman, Done a bunch of 'em. I've always run a belt sander over the mating surfaces just enough to true them up. Then, orange RTV on the gasket. Stainless through bolts with never seize to connect them together. Stainless nuts with never seize on the flanges, and remember, that proper torque is your friend. Never had any trouble after that.
