Best I can tell quadra drive is a full time transfer case with a clutch to automatically lock. I believe the system has a differential and the lock mechanism is like a clutch limited slip except that it has a pump and can use hydraulic pressure to increase the clutch grip. The quadradrive actually has the same cltch setup in the axles so that it can "send" power to a single wheel. A friend of mine had this system on an 05 grand and it has 150,000 with no problems. For his wife he loves it because it is hands free and works really realy well in snow. For some reason my wife with a part time case wrangler wont engage 4 wheel if ground isnt covered because she is worried about hurting something. Doesnt help if you dont use it.
