And yes, of course Frank needed a quote for the work. Isn't that reasonable in any line of business? I've certainly never had a job where the subject of "when can you do it?" and "what will it cost?" hasn't come up. Surely you give customers firm quotes before you do the work. Nowhere do I see Frank asking for a discount of any sort. It looks to me like Jim saw "You can pick it up when you're running empty" as "I want you to do it on a back haul at a discount." Maybe a guy gets asked for a cheap price so often that he develops a bit of a hair trigger about it, but Frank's words sound innocent to me.
