The gears are serviceable. The leading edge is worn from it being a non synchromesh transmission and someone not double clutching very well. The picture shows tat the gear teeth have little wear. If there are not a lot of pits on the gear faces it should be fine. It might be a little noises. After 64 years expect wear. What kills the gears are pits. Pits are usually caused by moisture or water in the tranny and it has sat for many years. You often see the portion of the gears above the oil to be badly rusted and pitted.

What I would check on that transmission is the lower gear and its shaft. In my 51 the upper gears and bearings were not that bad. The lower shaft was badly worn by the bearings. It had groves in it from the bearings with only 30K miles. The lower gear cluster looked ok where the shaft bearings ran. The lower gear did have slop in it from the worn shaft. I believe that VPW has the lower shaft if you need it.

I ended up putting an early M37 NP420 transmission case with civilian gears in it. It is a direct bolt in.

As said earlier use a thick grease to hold the loose roller bearings in place during assembly.
