Thats what I was wondering if a Chrysler AC compressor would be a good enough pump to pull vacuum. I got a electric motor off an old water pump so I am sure its strong enough to turn a compressor/vacuum. I may do some tinkering tomorrow in the garage and piece together the compressor and motor and hook my vacuum gauge up and see if it will pull enough. 100 years ago while I was in High School the shop teacher made a small carry type air compressor with this same setup and a small tank we welded (welding class) it all together and it was perfect for running a nail gun or something. Similair to those little Cambell Hausfelds I see at the farm store.
I dont think I can hook anything to my air compressor intake. Its a new one I bought a few years back and I really dont want to start messing with it. Its too important for other things! ;)
I'll do some tinkering and see if this idea works.
