ALL WWII vehicles left the factory with registration numbers in "blue drab" per regulations. The official change to marking the registration numbers in white did not go into effect until after VE day- BUT many of the registration numbers were repainted in white because blue drab was not available. No records exist to document the history of a particular vehicle but you might uncover unit markings on the bumpers, tailgate, or if early enough a vehicle, on or under the doors.
