Hi Jerry,

I just went through the front of my '78 trailduster, I took the six bolts out to remove the rotor/drive flange/bearings/bearing retainer, then had the whole thing pressed apart to change the bearings.

While at the auto shop to press the bearings apart, we looked at a manual and it showed the rotor/drive flange being pulled off the truck with a puller. The bearings and bearing retainer were left on the spindle. Then you took out the six retainer bolts to remove the bearings.

If you were able to get the rotor/flange pulled off, you'd have nice access to the six bearing retainer bolts. I suspect you'd have a very, very hard time pulling the rotor/flange out of the bearings, but it looks like that was the way the manual recommended.

Something to think about anyway.

Email if you need help, info, whatever. I know I was very confused when I tried to get mine apart.

good luck,
mark
