The original M152 was a US design for a panel body, basically indentical to the ambulance body, that would have been useful for radio gear, payroll and the military police as a paddy wagon. I don't have the figures in front of me, but I think only like 5 or so prototypes were made.

The Canadians liked the fully enclosed body, and thus the M152CDN came about mainly as a radio truck. It differs from the M43 Ambulance not only by the windows by also with a single door instead of the ambulance double doors.

And yes, the Canadian trucks had 251 engines.
