A leak!

I just finished putting back together the steering box on the 47 dodge. The box has an adjustment screw sticking out of the side cover with a star-shaped washer and a cap on it. It is now leaking oil around that adjustment screw like crazy. I am using a heavy oil stabilizer in it, and it did not leak before I took it apart. I didn't see any washers or gaskets at the time but it was really grimy. What am I missing? Thanks!
