My 1st car was not much to bragg about, a one
owner 1967 4 door Dodge Dart. We purchased it from the little old lady down the street. She happened to inherit an extremely valuable old farm smack dab in San Antonio near the airport. The family sold everything and split, instant millionaires.

I wanted something else, and dad gave me a loan approval of "about $1,500.00". I scanned the auto traders weekly. After a few months of searching, an ad really caught my eye. I called on it, it was not yet sold, and immediatly I was buzzing across town in the slant 6er to go see it. The price as advertised was $1,695.00, so it was do-able with dad.

When I got back home, I begged him to go take a look. He said he would, but TOMORROW!? I was especially excited, as I had seen the car in a previous auto trader for $3,000, out of my credit approval range.
The used car lot of Benson Motors wanted it gone, and slashed the price to $1,495.00.

So the next day we get down there, dad takes it for a spin. I remember him stepping on the gas pedal and asking "Why does it jerk
forward so hard?" He agreed on getting it.
As we cinched the deal, a couple of older car nuts were just pulling up to see it. That was in August 1983.

My time machine transported me to work today,
I have been able to get it home recently as my new shop is near complete, and removed it from the barn at my property.

Feels good to drive it, it was home base for me and my buds during the fun Junior-Senior years of high school.
