You'll need a different trans, I'd recommend an A518 (727 OD) rather than the A500 or 904 that's in it now. If you have to use the same trans, you'll have to overhaul it as some of the clutch packs have more plates with the v8. If you've got a manual then you just need a clutch. The rest is really straight forward, wiring, ecu, etc. I would recommend just getting a magnum 5.2 or 5.9 and trans out of a 92-96 truck. Is that year fuel injected? You may just need to put a different pump in the tank, possibly not. Hope this helps.
